There have been several posts recently asking for new player assistance (which is awesome!). I am compiling this to assist with investigation of the Clash of Lords 2 mobile game. I do NOT consider myself a pro-player in CoL, but I have not been playing for the entire time either If you are an experienced player, please add comments as well. I will try to annotate when I am stating my opinion.​Background: I have been playing CoL2 for 2 years, with a 6 month break after 1.5 years of playing. I do spend $ in $25 spurts but sporadically and only if I can attain at least 10 ancient spirits from game events. I play on iOS(English) and hover around: 3800 trophies / 100 rank arena / 250 rank guild boss / 75 rank Hero Trial.​Current game patch: (Useful for when people read later) All epic heroes may be enlightened EXCEPT Savage Lord. Reigndeer is the newest hero.

(You can see order of hero updates / new heroes by going to Inventory-See More-Epic Heroes newest on left.) Hire 5x 10 heroes per week for a ‘free’ hero selection is relatively new, as well as Snowman Boss / Hellish Horde game modes.​HEROESEpic heroes are what you generally are after. Only use Normal/Good/Rare heroes until you get a stable of Epic. Rare heroes may be used as a stop-gap until you get an initial core of epic heroes; but keep in mind that they’re a stop gap don’t invest too much.​Tier 1 heroes (opinion. Meta / new mechanics may change)Storm Rider: Listed first for a reason. His summon skill is very strong and essentially gives you another ‘free’ hero in the fight. You won’t regret dumping most of your resources into this hero.

This hero CAN have his shards obtained from a maxed out Alchemy lab (TH 14 req + 25.7k total powder more on Alchemy later)Pan Goli (dps), Renee Ven (for divine), Penthesilea (NOT in lab), Wolf (human = tank), Arcane Caster (AC)(divine+skill), Toxic Shaman(skill), Ambrosia(base attack+divine), Great Sage(skill+divine), Imp Mistress (NOT in lab) all all very popular heroes that can be used in multiple areas of the game. (I’m sure there are a variety of opinions on specific mentions this list after SR is NOT ordered)​Tier 2 heroes (opinion. Meta / new mechanics may change) (not ordered)Ravager, Tidal Guardian (NOT in lab), Demon Slayer, Rath, Won Ton (WT), Landslide, Arctic Lord, Berserker, Chiron, Abyss Demon, Ironclad.

These heroes are useful. They can be quite powerful, but they are not currently as common.Special Note: Hydrasaur + Sapphirix together can be formative early game. As opponent heroes enlighten, this combo loses effectiveness.​Tier 3 heroes (or ones I don’t know much about)Reigndeer, Xaphan, Air Elite, Skull Mage, Djinni, Bullhead, Pounder. Comments from others welcome.​Tier 4 heroes (I rarely see these)Carol d Belle, Dark Rider, Glory Priestess, Blockhead, Savage Lord.​Who to pick for Core?? Read the skills and form a team.

I know this is challenging, but really most of the epic heroes can take you to enlightenment stage of the game. Knowing that people will look for lists anyway: for the initial stages choose a tank (Wolf, Landslide, Pounder, Bullhead), and add Ambrosia to your team.

Ambrosia’s base attack is powerful (fast/decent damage). Storm Rider should also be a priority to obtain / use. Some other decent core heroes for early game include two more heroes from Tier 1 or 2 above. (Whichever skills sound awesome to you is what you should use. Feel free to try different heroes.)​BASEThis game is NOT 'clash of clans with more heroes'.

There is no ‘penalty’ for base rushing. Player level really doesn’t imply you’re awesome. (My player level still isn’t 150, but probably will be in another few months my TH is maxed out).Town Hall provides defenses for heroes starting at lvl 17.Heroes Halls provide bonuses to heroes and is maxed out at 17. THIS SHOULD BE PRIORITIZED!!!!!

You will need TH 14 to max out your heroes halls. For the +85% attack / +170% hp bonus.Alchemy lab is needed to turn unused heroes into something useful (dust). TH14 needed to max it out (Storm Rider shards)Sanctum is needed for heroes to unlock more glyphs. PRIORITIZE starting this process. It takes a long time and the sooner you start the better. TH10 needed to unlock the building. Around 81.5k mutagen will be needed to push this to 25, which will eventually be desired.

For now, just unlock it for each glyph level your core needs to further progress. The final lvl 25 stage takes 25 days per hero for the star glyph.Many other defenses obtain bonuses as they get higher in level. In general, higher level defenses are better than mass amounts of low level ones, as AOE is fairly common. Higher level buildings have armor options and bonuses to damage reduction.​HEROES – TalentsTalents have a marginal impact upon the hero. While this can matter later in the game, it can be passed on for now.

Some people unlock talents when they’re trying to hit a gem spending stage. Popular selections include: Blessed Weapon (damage), Blessing Downwind(attack speed), Charm Curtain(dmg reduce), Nimble Moves (dodge).

Some heroes may have need of other talents when can be determined by skill description fairly accurately.​HEROES – EQUIPMENTSTART your equipment journey NOW. El Dorado IS worth it.

Obtaining weapons IS important. It DOES take forever. Tyrants Blade is favored for damage. Dragon Heart is awesome on a tank. Weapon Enlightenment is fairly new and some (Hammer) have interesting skills. I, personally, have pushed for at least 1 of each maxed out.

I have benefited from pushing weapons hard for a long time. (Weapon power over 13k right now).Equipment may be created in the items-equipment - equipment shards menu.Be certain to use the set up menu in Arena to ensure gear is equipped for various modes of the game.The weapon power of your hero will +/- the damage they inflict / receive based upon opponents power as well. More will be better.Put weapons on your aids AFTER your heroes have them equipped. Your Aides gain half of the weapon power to add to your hero. However, it’s still more important to push your main weapons over that of aides.HERO – aidesAfter leveling your Hero Hall, you will eventually unlock 3 aides per hero.

Aides add to HP/ATK/both of the hero based upon the aid’s level AND provides an aid skill based upon the aid’s skill level. Some noteworthy aides: (there are others, of course) NOTE: you MAY have one Pan Goli on EACH hero base even if a Pan Goli is aiding a Pan Goli. You cannot double up a single type of hero so no 2 berserker aids on your one Hero base). Pan Goli: keeps hero alive for a bit longer after ‘death’. Storm Rider: reduces damage taken. Berserker: Reduces spike damage. Ravager: Reduces spike damage & heals.

Blockhead: Increases attack speed. Enchantress: Reduces debuff effects. Rath: Removes enemy Buffs. Ironclad: increases damage to buildings​HERO-MercenaryMercenaries are instant armies that join your hero in appropriate game modes.

You don’t need to ‘build’ them or wait for them to spawn. They’re always joining you. They can go up to lvl 50, and it can be considered to be a good idea to push them to 40 by the time you hero is Pisces (requirement for Pisces, unless you used evolution stones).​HERO – GloryEach Hero may have 12 glory. (fireball symbols at top of profile). Each glory increases the level cap by 5 and adds some hp/atk to the hero. GLORY EGGS MAY ONLY BE USED ON HEROES WITH 6 OR LESS GLORY. Super Glory eggs can be used on any hero.

Consuming a duplicate hero may always increase glory. One strategy is to be conservative when consuming duplicate heroes to use Glory Eggs to maximize efficiency. The genesis of the hero select has diminished this strategy, and Glory Eggs are VERY hard to come by if you are not spending $.​Hero – Hero levelThe hero level matters more when you are just starting out. After lvl 150 the evolution stage / enlightenment stage / equipment level / aid level(s) tends to matter more. If your lvl 200 hero gets crushed by a lvl 150 hero; the odds are: they had a better weapon / better aid / more evolved or enlightened which is why they waltzed over your corpse.​Hero – EnchantEnchantment provides buffs to heroes, and generally becomes more powerful the more a hero is enchanted.

Due to this, it is generally advised that after obtaining a base enchantment level (like, 30) focus on one hero at a time to max out their enchantment level (140) then move on to hero #2. Yes it gets quite expensive Yes it’s worth it.

“Shrug it off” will reduce skill damage by 25% at lvl 20.​Hero – GlyphsBegin unlocking glyphs as soon as possible it takes a long time, but is worth the wait. Glyphs add to your hero’s capability.

Some noteworthy glyphs:. Life Drinker: Leeches HP (Star glyph). Siege Master: Additional Building damage (hex glyph). Heroic Aim: Hit rate increase (square glyph). Equilibrium: Increase Atk/HP (square glyph).

Righteous Rites: Hero Skill Dmg RED / Merc Skill Dmg Red (round)There are many good glyphs. Check what is most useful for the game mode you’re using a hero for and apply as needed.

You can’t really ‘lose’ xp as you may consume a leveled glyph for xp on another.​Hero – MeditationGuild Base - Guild Retreat (crystal structure) - MeditateIt’s free resources keep it going as much as possible.​Hero – Evolution / EnlightenmentEvolution stones are your friend. They allow bypass of resource requirements for a hero by using stones instead. To help with searching for info:. Aries: 1. Taurus: 2.

Gemini: 7. Cancer: 12. Leo: 16. Virgo: 20.

Libra: 24. Scorpio: 27.

Sagittarius: 30. Capricorn: 45. Aquarius: 50. Pisces: 66. Total: 300​Note: I do NOT post the requirements of other resources for each evolution OR enlightenment for a reason: they’re different for EVERY hero. There are good resources on IGG forums showing costs for any specific hero.Divine Skill. Leo should be your initial goal for each Core hero.

Some heroes may seem lackluster until their divine hits a certain level (Renee Ven, who can regenerate another hero’s used divine skill). Divine Level 1: Leo evolution. Divine Level 2: Capricorn evolution.

Divine Level 3: Pisces evolution. Divine Level 4: Enlightenment 13. Divine Level 5: Enlightenment 22​Pisces is a requirement for Enlightenment. As is hero level 180.​Game Resources​Arena tends to give good rewards for all the below (except Ancient Spirits)​Gold – easiest to get.

You can grind Resource Raids if needed. More common restriction is time to build.Souls – typically attained from Lords League rank (Souls / hr)Rings – Cat’s Meow is effective for rings. (250 gems / day 3 buys can give 800 rings / day fairly easily). Rolling on hero hire 100% Luck can give a fair amount, but typically it’s not as efficient as Cat’s Meow; but it’s more.Mutagen – Challenging to get without $.Ancient Spirits – needed for enlightenment. Meditation in Guild Retreat.

Clash

Most likely bottleneck long term.Hero shards: various game events / activities may give shards. Alchemy for older heroes.​AlchemyThe building is expensive, but you can get a decent amount of shards from scrapping a hero with the following:Take an epic hero you won’t use (I spend Skull Mages). If you have evo shards, spend 10 (3 stage) on the hero. Push the hero to skill 5. Push the mercenary to lvl 11. Push the lvl to 40 or 50. Then scrap it for dust.

You should get over 2k dust per hero for the low resource spend.​Game play: Choosing opponent (guild war / resource raid)Player level will give you an idea regarding defense strength ONLY.Check to see if any hero graphics have changed to enlightened stage.Check weapon power difference stated. (Power)Is their town hall lvl 14+ so they could max hero halls? (and therefore have 3 aides)Guildwar: You are able to see ALL these things in preview. IF you got mismatched (enemy is MUCH tougher than your guild) use the opportunity to see how stronger players have chosen to upgrade their heroes. You may also view players in the Lords League ranking list. Find out what the top players are using. NOTE: some heroes have their talent needs swap after a certain point of development.​​Hopefully this helps put some context around Clash of Lords 2.

Heroes aid other heroes through the Heroes hall building.​When you look at a hero you can see their skill and Aid skill. The aid skill is applied when that specific hero is an aid to another hero.

Ex: I know several people who have 6 Pan Golis: One that has most of the resources, and the other 5 are used for their aid skill.​To start out with your aids: It's OK if they're lower level than your main heroes (They will pretty much always be until very end game). Don't worry about increasing their glory or evolving the aids. (lvl 120 is ok) Look at the break points for aid skills, (read the descriptions!) and spend a majority of your rings on your core hero skill progression / evolution/enlightenment.​Aids can have equipment.

If you put a weapon on an aid; then half of the power from the hero is added to the main hero's power total. Ex: My Ambrosia has a weapon equipped on base defense with a power of 1370.

One of her aids (an SR) has a weapon with power 1250. My Ambrosia's power from this first aid is increased to 1370+1250/2=1995. Adding the weapons from her other 2 aids increases her power to 2810. If she is attacking an opponent who dared to attack my horribly designed base (I fell into the trap of building lots of small defenses and lose frequently).

If the opponent had weapon power of 1370 then the difference between my hero and theirs is 1440. A difference this large (1250+) results in maximum benefit / penalty. My Ambrosia gets a +50% damage bonus and receives 25% less damage from the opponent. On top of other bonuses that may exist.​Regarding consuming the Storm Rider to increase glory. Increase glory to meet requirements for evolution. Reaching Leo evolution will unlock your divine which will increase your strength much more than pretty much anything else.

Evolution stones bypass the requirements of each evolution stage, so if you have 66 evolution shards for Pisces, you don't have to be player level 120 or meet/pay the other requirements/costs.

Historically, an opponent player lvl of 120 meant that the opponent could have Pisces heroes. With evolution stones, it could happen earlier.​Having the 5 hire = 1 choice weekly selection has dramatically changed the stress of using heroes, imho. Some heroes are MUCH less frequently rolled as you'll discover. Storm rider is one of those rare heroes. Fortunately, there is a great path to getting him 1x / week now, which makes the angst much less now regarding what to do. (This is also why Alchemy was historically stressed SO much.

You weren't going to get a Storm Rider unless you spent $, realistically. And SR was a $50 purchase requirement for many game events. I have rolled less than 5 storm riders and have scrapped countless Blitz/Savage Lord/Glory Priestess into shards to remove from my inventory.).

I would suggest that you save as many Stormriders you need to hit lvl 180 in your Inventory and put them in campaign clash so they can gain xp passively. Once you get your Stormrider to Pisces then you can consume the Stormriders and get it to 180 faster. Save gems for spending events and spend 8k gems when wishing tree and Lords Gone Wild event come out on Saturdays. You can hire your 5x heroes on Saturday and get your free Sr. Then go over to the spending events and get Sr evolution essences from Lords gone wild. You will be able to get at least 1 Stormrider and 40 essences per week.

No need to spend a ton of rings and mutagen getting to Pisces. Instead get rings and mutagen from wishing tree event and save them for when you are able to enlighten your Stormrider. I would suggest that once you have enough for lvl 180 you begin to deconstruct extra Stormriders and save the shards for when you begin to enlighten him. This exact situation is why Alchemy Lab is such a nice building.If you’re able to upgrade Alchemy lab, you can grind 100 shards every 2 days of Storm Rider. (Or burn gems to accelerate the timer)If you haven’t maxed out lab, consider doing so. Tiger woods pga tour 12 password.

That way you are able to keep the rolled Storm Rider for glory and for use as an aid.Note: Your Town Hall will need to be 14, and I have the dust costs posted above. It’s not easy, but it’s very beneficial.

(700 shards every 2 weeks without burning gems. Also gives a ‘use’ for heroes that you may never use. Blitz bomber. Skeleton Mage.

Ah mine is still lvl1 I have no dust to upgrade it and I read you need to lvl up heroes to lvl55 to Max the value of dust I'm still really new to the game but I got a lot of speed ups which I probably wasted getting my th to 17 and then used the rest on vaults for th upgrades and hero bases since I read they were important as well should I use my lvl1 heroes to start getting dust or wait and send in higher lvl? Also is the only way to get weapons from gems? Because I have some scraps but have no idea how to get more weapons it just takes me to a page and each one is 5k gems. If you’re that new (where 55 is a challenge), then keep a keen eye on the player level requirements for manually upgrading Storm Rider. You won’t regret the hero base upgrades to 17, as they enable more aids for your team in every mode of the game.

Even if your aids are ‘weak’, having the extra bonuses should make a difference against peers.You can combine weapon shards into weapons. Follow the link progression I showed above to get to the correct screen. You do NOT need to spend 3/5k gems.Item - Weapons. (Which will likely be blank or have the starter quest weapon)(click upper right here)THEN click on the Equip Guide. This will show you all the weapons. If you have enough shards, then you may craft new weapons on this screen.These weapons may then be upgraded with the farmed parts from El Dorado.( heck if i can get stupid images to show rather than just links).
