Experience the thrill of one versus thousands in an all new open world setting with DYNASTY WARRIORS 9, the latest installment in the series!Ancient China is depicted on a single, vast, open-world map. Also, while maintaining the series' intuitive controls, we have included a new Musou Action system where you can experience the thrill of 'one versus thousands' like never before on an ever-changing battlefield. Its a fun entry. I love the combat flow. Still a button masher but with just enough tactics.
I like the trigger attacks better than the stratagem system of 8 Empires. The open world is boring. Hideaways feel forced and only really offer a distraction. Plus crafting feels forced and pointless as its easier to just buy everything.
Biggest set back is complete lack of co-op. Like seriously, Dynasty Warriors has always been about laying waste to the masses with a friend!!
Dynasty Warriors 9 (真・三國無双8, Shin Sangoku Musou 8) is the ninth main entry of the Dynasty Warriors series. It was first teased by Kou Shibusawa at 2016 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan and formally revealed during Koei's web program Koei-Tecmo Greatest Ever Line Up Special on December 17, 2016. The Empires games have been around since Dynasty Warriors 4, with the aim of adding a degree of strategy and realism to the franchise. Presented as a cross between the hack and slash mayhem of a Musou game and the more tactical gameplay of the Romance for the Three Kingdoms franchise, these spin-offs tend to not have a large amount of depth but deliver quantity over quality.
I wish I could have 9's combat in Empires gameplay. With that said I in no way regret my purchase. I already have close to 70 hours of time played. I want to be able to take any character and start a rougue nation. Be able to capture any character and either enlist them, execute them, or set them free. You should be able to hire mercenaries, bandits, assassins, warlords, and be able to improve the equipment of your Army. You should be able to fortify your own stronghold/keep/castle/pagoda. We should be able to command units individually, give them specific orders.
I want to feel like a commander not just an officer. You have alot of improvements to make in this instalation, and fyi.
If you want the masses to buy your dlcs that your all obsessed with milking, maybe try to offer bennefits for players that game together in co-op mode. Save your $$ -Obsessive DW FanFirst thing, this is a single player game, unlike every other Dynasty Warriors barring the second one from 1997. So twenty or so years after learning co-op was one of their game's most defining feature, they take it out.😆😆.Second thing, There is no character creation, this would not have been a problem if the characters actually had unique fight styles and weren't all copy-pasted move sets. Again this was done in previous games, but in the last few years stopped mattering. Now on to the actual flaws.A) Graphics are bad, and I don't mean the 'they focused on gameplay' bad. They look like they belong on the Xbox 360.B) Sound quality is just as bad, if not worse then previous games. The moment you get in a huge battle, say goodbye to discernable noise and say hello to a beautiful rendition of static and pops that will make believe your headset was dying. (it's not)C) Open World done wrong.
The entirety of the 'open world' was fetch quests.I ran out of room. Submitted on Review title of Brianthao102Needs EmpiresThis game has gotten many patches since and it is fun. Although the open world tends to get boring from time to time. The game is stable and you can enjoy combat.
What I believe this game should get is an Empires version. That way many of the in-game features like hideaways and officer bonding and side quests would be pushed to their limits.
Also adding back the features such as sworn siblings, marriage, and event cutscenes would be great. But what I think everyone wants is character creation. Submitted on 2/15/2019 Review title of PainedSpider509DW9 is way better after a year of updatesDW9 started rocky, but after a year of dedicated updates almost monthly, Koei Tecmo has turned it around. Adding local co-op and multiplayer was a monumental game changer. Don't listen to old reviews, because there's alot that Koei Tecmo has addressed because they listen to their players😍The most jarring change from previous Dynasty Warriors is the open world, a major departure from the boring menus of previous games.
I know haters are gonna hate, but I love the change. Be sure to change the audio to chinese language, as the english is terrible, and yes the DLC is pricey, but the season passes are worth it. If they keep adding content at the rate they have then there will never be a DW10! Submitted on 3/17/2018 Review title of TASKpossibilityit a great game but could use some improvementsi the new open world experience and how all the fights are going on at the same time, also great move on the fast travel mechanics i especially like how it adds time to the overal in game clock.
It took away two features that made most of the older games better to a degree which were co-op and character creator and customization. Everthing was golden great job hope you continue to innovate!👍.
