I have been playing smite now for almost 4 years and have some advice for new players. Everyone talks about the toxic side of the community. The feeders, trolls, spammers and hatemailers who are in fact a problem in the community. But they are the loud minority and for me to say ignore them and move on would be ignorant.

I have always told newer players i come across how to take care of this problem: Mute report block. It's really that easy. And if it is really bad put a support ticket in and hi rez is actually really good at taking care of it.

This game is really fun and addicting. I have made friendships to last a lifetime in this game. There is a learning curve but with time and guidance u can easily get skilled with the variety of unique characters and builds/items. Remember to try and stay positive, follow my rules for toxic players and of course have fun and make friends. Don't be afraid to message me with questions.

I agree with alot of players that this game is fun and addicting but ever since COVID 19 started the toxicity has a risen to unbelieveable heights. I say one issue they desperately need to fix is the crossplay turn off option, it doesnt work.

Pc should never play with xbox it just creates super toxic servers/ game. So for now just play it safe and expect to get rekt and laughed upon in this game but its a great game trust me 4 years of experience. However for a competetive experience you need more. The common theme I see is hi-rez being absolutely terrible at balancing gameplay. There are gods that I can win 20 games in a row with, and others who pale in comparison to the mighty cc chains and one hit combos that the top tier gods have. There are tier lists online that are widely accepted by the community to be accurate. That shouldn't exist.

The goal should be to make every god viable. There have even been times that gods were made overpowered on purpose to sell skins. That is a huge smack in the face and only proves that the developers don't care about the loyal fans. I'm tired of the developers continuing to ignore the community and even the pros. Yes, pro league players, have flat out been told they were wrong when it comes to balancing issues.

The other main issue is servers. I have 500 mbps up and down with a cat6 cable. But my ping is 90? Because of my location.

I can tell you the game itself has addicting gameplay with a huge variety of playstyles with new gods and builds. There are toxic players but you can mute and report them and they are actually dealt with now.

Some gods are more op than others but you cant have 108 perfectly even gods. The developers are doing well and for a free game it is definitely worth giving it a try with a friend.
